meaningless.
just because we find a post on tumblr that speaks to what we’re thinking/feeling doesn’t mean we’re somehow on the right track or that those emotions are making a positive impact in our lives. yes, it’s comforting. yes, it means someone else on earth has felt the same way at some point in their lives. maybe they walked away from it, maybe they’re still held there, static or maybe it was what ruined them. and yes, you can find inspiration here, a starting point. but in the midst of the overflowing, never ending emotions, thoughts and ideas on your dash, you’re still you. nothing is ever going to change, regardless of how many things you reblog that “reflect” who you are. (does it really reflect who you really are anyways?)
you and your life will change only if you go and actively change things for the better. don’t lose yourself in all of this. find original content that comes from your own mind and your mind alone — the source from which everything you reblog came from this process that happened for someone, somewhere and you obviously found value in it, no? there’s so much more in your heart and mind than anything you will ever, ever find on tumblr. instead of trying to somehow find a reflection in everyone else, search for yourself and work with what you find. it’s much more worth your time.

"Take the time to really attend to a meal, a good book, a piece of music, or a sunrise. The point is to be fully present, to not be swept up into the distraction of a thousand voices, but to learn how to simply and fully attend to one. Then, when one enters back into the noisy world we live in, even the million colors together are more vibrant because you have learned to better see color in its essence. To truly see is to find hope."

"And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about."
